Got up and had breakfast at the Aladdin buffet.  It was a holiday there so we were unable to use the 2-for-1 coupon we were given at check-in :(  That is okay because it was AMAZING food.  I've never seen such a huge selection for breakfast.  Yummy.  We checked out and took a cab over to Caesars around 11am.  It was too early for check-in so we left our bags and played some slots there...again enjoyed a bloody Mary (again, sure wish the US would catch on to Caesars especially at a place with the same name!).

I had found a great deal at Caesars thanks to www.fatwallet.com by using the Best Rate Guarantee.  It saved us $500 on our 5 night stay in the Palace Tower.  One word of advise about Caesars do not stay in the 3 older towers (Forum, Centurion and Roman) the rooms are run down and get consistently bad reviews.  Plus you have to walk through the casino to get to the pools.  If you are going to stay here upgrade to either the Palace Tower or if you can afford it the newest Augustus Tower.  Our room in the Palace tower was GORGEOUS.  It was very close to the pools.  I was very happy with the room.  I think we checked in around 1pm.

After getting into the room and unpacking we went for a walk on the strip.  Toured around the Flamingo grounds a bit. Went to Bally's to get tickets to see Jubilee on Wednesday night.  Ended up walking back through the Caesars forum shops.  It has really been built up since the last trip.  We decided just to eat at the Planet Hollywood in the Forums since we wanted to head downtown.  Food was nothing special.  I am so glad we made it downtown on this trip.  It really has that old Vegas feel.  The Freemont Street experience is a light show that happens on the canopy above you.  We took a cab both ways.  Couldn't be bothered waiting for the bus (or the deuce as it is called).  

 

This was our room at Caesars.  Just beautiful.  The view was very exciting.  Although we could see the mirage and the volcano.

This is at the Flamingo.  They have an area with lots of different types of birds.  Used to have penguins but they had recently been moved to a zoo.

 

This is outside the Mirage where we went to see the new Beatles show (more about that on Friday)

 The Golden Nugget.  It was great to see all of these old Vegas casinos.  Althought we didn't stay in any too long.  These ones are smoky.
