![]() Duane picked me up from work at 2pm and we headed straight to the airport. We left Toronto at 6:15pm on the smallest plane I have ever seen. There were 13 rows with 3 seats across. So Row 6 was the middle of the plane! We landed in Cleveland at 7:25pm and had to wait an hour to catch the connecting flight. Thankfully, the next leg was on a big plane but the movie they showed (Mona Lisa Smile) was the most boring thing I have ever had to sit through. I was getting pretty cranky by the time we arrived at our destination. It was 9:45pm (Vegas time) which was like 12:45am our time. Considering I had been up since 6am it was no wonder I was beyond exhausted. We could actually see our hotel from the plane when we landed. I would highly recommend flying into Vegas at night just to see the lights of the strip as you come in. We got off the plane and our luggage was waiting for us. I couldn't help but notice all of the slot machines right there in the airport! But I was too beat to bet. We decided to forgo the shuttle buses and opted for a cab. Luckily, the MGM Grand is close to the airport so it was a short ride. I was ready for bed and all I wanted was my room, we could go exploring the next morning. Duane checked in and we were told that they didn't have any King beds with no smoking (even though I had specified this in the reservations). I was too tired to argue...queen beds...fine. We made our way to the 5th floor and just as we reached our room a maid was opening the door. It was not ready she had to clean it. I was furious (probably jet lag) so we marched back to the front desk and I grabbed a Manager as he was walking by. By the time I was done we had a King bed in a non-smoking room on the 22nd floor....YIPPEE! I don't think I even got a good look at the room...my head hit the pillow and I was out like a light. As you can tell I didn't take any photos on Wed....... |
