Discreetly located in the heart of Beverly Hills, the Avalon Hotel is a stylish boutique property that features a dramatic pool terrace with private cabanas. The hotel was previously an industry hangout known as the Beverly Carlton Hotel. Beginning in 1948,the hotel was a home to Marilyn Monroe intermittently for a few years. The hotel's hourglass-shaped pool and poolside cabanas can be seen in Monroe photos from that era. I had the opportunity to visit the property in August 2017 thanks to the Immortal Marilyn fan club.
