Niagara
In 1952, Marilyn Monroe brought the bright lights of Hollywood north of the border to Niagara Falls, Ontario. She was here to film the movie Niagara, a film noir classic with co-star Joseph Cotten. In total, she was in the city for about two weeks, from June 5th to 18th.
I hope these photos and corresponding descriptions will help other fans who visit Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada to find the Marilyn-related locations that still exist. These are all current as of October 2014. I concentrated on scenes and places that Marilyn had been except for the Cave of the Winds which is easy to see from the Canadian side. If you want to visit the area where George Loomis steals a boat at the end of the film it is located along Bridgewater Street in Chippawa. The building which is now the Riverside Tavern can be seen in the background.
I had an amazing time researching and retracing her steps and I hope you will too.
