It would take 10 years
for another Marilyn doll to hit the scene. In 1993, DSI came out with a set of six Marilyn Monroe Dolls (they also made Elvis Presley
and James Dean versions). These dolls were more affordable than the
previous World Dolls. I think they have a very good facial
resemblance but the dresses are not based on anything that Marilyn
actually wore. I got the Silver Sizzle doll as a present when it
was first released. She was the first Marilyn doll I ever owned so
I have a special fondness for this set. These dolls were all individually numbered and came with a certificate of authenticity.
